This Privacy Policy explains how Lumia OS ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information across our products, Eko Learn and SmartSchool. By using either product, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly — such as school, staff, and student records, academic data, and contact details — as well as information generated through normal use of the platform, such as login activity and feature usage.
3. How we use information
We use collected information to operate and improve Eko Learn and SmartSchool, to support schools using either product, and to communicate service-related updates. We do not sell student, staff, or school data to third parties.
4. Data sharing
Because Eko Learn and SmartSchool share the same underlying platform, account and school records may be used across both products where relevant — for example, a school's identity and staff records. We do not share data with third parties except where required to operate the service (such as hosting infrastructure) or where required by law.
5. Data security
We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect data stored on Lumia OS. No system is completely secure, and we continuously work to improve our safeguards.
6. Children's data
Eko Learn and SmartSchool both process student data, including data belonging to minors, as part of their core school-management functions. This data is collected and managed under the authority of the school, not directly from individual students, and is used solely for educational and administrative purposes.
7. Your rights
Schools and users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their data by contacting us. Requests are handled in line with applicable data protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.
